THE PLAZA FOOD HALL.

On Friday evening I ran over to the Plaza for dinner at Todd English's Food Hall. It is a food court, but of the finest variety - various stations line the perimeter of the space: the dumpling bar (for noodles and dumplings), the wine bar (for tapas and wine selections), the sushi bar, the grill (for burgers and sliders), the cheese counter, the bakery, and the pizzeria (with a stone hearth oven that pumps out delicious flatbreads). The centerpeice of the hall is a fantastic display of seafood at the Ocean Grill and Oyster Bar. But unlike a food court - the food runner isn't yourself!! Be seated anywhere and order food from all sections of the hall for a true Food Hall experience. Find the menu here.

We started off with some Risotto Tatertots - delightful little bites.

And a Classic Flatbread -with roasted tomato sauce, bufala mozzerella, and basil. A truly thin crust with just the perfect amount of toppings.

C's Crab Salad Rolls (we requested they be turned into sliders) and a side of Parmesan Fries. I am not normally a fan of fries, but when you cover them with shavings of cheese it is whole different story. The Crab Salad had a good after-kick from the Old Bay seasoning.

I ordered the Roasted Baby Beets tapas with toasted pistachio and manchego cheese. Very lovely.

And also a Grilled Lobster Salad - which was absolutely indulgent and fantastic. The lobster salad was a combination of new bay butter, mustard dressing, and shredded bib lettuce - which ended up taking on the familiar tang of Big Mac special sauce (uhhh-mazing!). The magical mound of lobster was then piled up on top of a circle of brioche!!!njefnsjlegnseg

We were way too full for dessert but dropped by the bakery for some take-home treats (C got a slice of Red Velvet while I opted for some chocolate croissants). I really enjoyed the Food Hall - it is a great place to bring a group of people with different food preferences. The atmosphere is bustling (like that of European market), the food is prepared well, and you are guaranteed to have a good meal.
