1. DRINK TEAOK - so I'll be the first to admit that I don't VIGOROUSLY drink tea everyday. I started off with a gusto and went through boxes and boxes of bagged teas...but then became ACTIVELY aware of the fact that my teeth were turning a frightening shade of YELLOW. I still drink tea very often - in fact, just today I had a chai soy latte (does that count??) and also an almond milk bubble tea (OK, I don't even think that's really tea)...BUT YOU GET THE PICTURE.
2. TAKE VITAMINS
Let's just say: PRAISE THE LORRRRRRDDD for gummy vitamins because this definitely would never have happened with a bottle of Centrum. I am more than happy to pop 4 pieces of candy - I mean Multivitamins and Vitamin C supplements - everyday.
3. LEARN SOMETHING NEW
4. TAKE CLASSES
5. GIVE BACKOf all of my resolutions - this is the one that has made the most meaningful impact on my life thus far. I joined New York Cares a few months ago and have spent my first Saturday of every month with the 4th and 5th graders of PS 208. To feel needed by a child is like no other feeling in the world!! I sound like a psycho cat woman who wishes she had 18 children but I'm so serious. I don't know how parents let their children go off to college - I plan on homeschooling mine until they are 47. It is such a blessing to be able to witness the joy of children learning and appreciating an experience that we most likely take for granted. Furthermore - it is eye-opening to learn about the experiences that many of these children DO go through. Yet despite their hardships - they are the most generous human beings that I know!! I cannot wait to spend many more Saturday mornings with them - we are learning CAPOEIRA this weekend!!
SO YAY, GO ME!! I DIDDDDD ITTTTTTTT. *PAT MYSELF ON BACK OVER AND OVER UNTIL MY EYES ARE PERMANENTLY CROSSED*
But that's nothing compared to the self-improvement I have planned for this year!!! I have this OVERWHELMING feeling that 2011 is going to be an AMAZING year. For starters - the first day of the year was 1/1/11. Like - if that was ANY sign from God - it's a sign that THIS IS GOING TO BE THE BEST YEAR WE'VE HAD SINCE LIKE...1911.
And without further ado, my goals:
1. OBTAIN TAIWAN R.O.C. PASSPORT
What better year to hold a Taiwanese passport than the year that celebrates the 100th year of it's birth!?!? I don't care how many visits to the consulate it takes - this will be completed.
2. SPEND LESS, READ MORE
Well OK first - this will require spending money on an iPad - but after that, BOOKWORM CITY HERE I COME!!!!! And I'm talking like IMPORTANT STUFF that will make me more aware of the world I live in, the world I lived in, and the world people forsee I will live in.
3. BE A BETTER DAUGHTER
Being in Taiwan made me realize how important it is to serve my fililal responsibility of being a child and an ONLY child at that.
4. START A COMPANY
Or at least be well on the way. BIG THINGS POPPIN'.
And with that - good luck and God speed, dear readers. DREAM BIG. LIVE BIG. Here's to a happy, healthy, and successful new year.
