BLUE WATER GRILL.

Brunch is one of my favorite hobbies. It can be considered a hobby because according to Dictionary.com, a hobby is "an activity or interest pursued for pleasure or relaxation and not as a main occupation." Well, while I certainly wish that I was making money off of eating brunch - it's probably a good thing that I have not been relying on brunching as a source of income because I, regrettably, have not eaten brunch in AGES. Being that it serves to please and relax, it is really a hobby that I need to get back into.

In honor of D being back in town, we decided to brunch at Blue Water Grill.

All brunchers have a choice of receiving a complimentary screwdriver, Bellini, Bloody Mary, mimosa, campari, or champagne. Along with coffee or tea, free of charge. I asked for a screwdriver made of grapefruit juice (you know I'm on that grapefruit kick).

Thanks to the Lunch Belle, I entered the restaurant with my order already in mind. The Lobster Benedict (with a side of greens to replace the home fries). I expected more lobster meat to be hiding somewhere in between the bulging poached egg (doused lovingly in Hollandaise sauce) and the mound of steamed spinach. However, upon cutting my way through to the bottom of the lemon pepper brioche, I realized the only lobster to be found would be the claws that were placed on the SIDE. I thought I ordered a Lobster Benedict, not an Eggs Benedict with a side of lobster. Once I got over the fact that I had gotten JIPPED (and after I had accidentally bitten through some lobster CARTILAGE), I accepted the dish for what it was and learned to appreciate it. The crevices of the brioche toast absorbed the sauce and egg yolk well. As a perfect-bite maniac, I made sure to get a helping of spinach and lobster on every forkful. I was satisfied.

You can get a decent brunch at Blue Water Grill. And the sweet, fruity bread in their bread basket is truly delicious. But I have come to the conclusion that if you don't have to wait outside for 2 hours in order to be seated...the brunch probably won't taste as good. Hunger is often the best sauce.
