MY PAST LIFE.

After this weekend, I am quite convinced that I was once a Slovak from Pittsburgh in a past life.

Here are the reasons why:

1. This plate full of traditional Slovakian dishes is symbolic of my favorite meal in the whole entire world.


From left to right: sauerkraut perogie, cottage cheese perogie, sauerkraut pie, and MY PERSONAL FAVORITE: LEKVAR perogie (prune-filled perogie!!!!!!). AHHHHHHH. If I never eat another lekvar perogie in my life, I will most certainly die an unfulfilled woman.

2. I have discovered that I am actually a part of the below pictured family.


There is a clear and defined resemblance among these three generations of women.


This is my actual grandmother. I got my height from her side of the family.

3. If you are looking for my heart, I left it at Six Penn Kitchen, my new favorite restaurant on the East Coast.


The nori-dusted JUMBO sized scallops atop a bed of KIMCHEE FRIED RICE.


UHHHHHH....the LOBSTER MAC & CHEESE!!!nsjeglnjsenglsjeng. Do I even need to describe it for you to understand that it was heaven in my mouth!?!? And the added fish roe to the dish was exciting and unexpected!!!


OH YES. That is a BROWNIE BURGER - brownie as a burger, white chocolate as the slice of cheese, mint leaves as lettuce, and strawberries as the tomatoes!! Inside a cute brioche bun. And YES those are CHEESECAKE FRENCH FRIES topped with a raspberry compote. And OH YEA, rootbeer float shooters!!nsjegnlsjneglsneg

4. I kidnapped a dog.

RAR have you ever seen a puggie so precious!??!?!! And wearing a STEELERS SWEATER to top it all off!?!?!?

5. No other NFL team in the world has won SIX SUPERBOWLS!!!!!


There is no dearth of manliness and beer guzzling at Superbowl parties in Pittsburgh!!!


There is no dearth of CRAZY STEELERS FANS on the streets of Pittsburgh after the STEELERS WON THE SUPERBOWL!!!!!!!!!


WAHHH I love being SLOVAK and IN PITTSBURGH!!!
