resort 2008.

I did some hardcore damage at Bloomingdales this past weekend...but now that it's raining, I kind of wish I had paid some more attention to those Burberry trenches. Sales are so weather-indicative. In nice, sunny weather, people feel inspired to go out and revamp their wardrobes...or atleast I do. In cold weather, people buy coats and boots and other furry, warm things out of human need...and also because owning 40 different pairs of boots for any and every type of situation is just absolutely necessary - snowing, raining, to wear with jeans, to wear with leggings, to wear out, full length, mid-calf, wedged, heeled, flat, classic, excessive hardware, lined with fur, leather, suede, I could go on..do you want me to?

Regardless...this Bloomingdales trip was focused entirely on my weekend escape to Jamaica in mid-May. Can we take a moment here to discuss how BRILLIANT Susan Miller is from Astrologyzone.com!??! I take a quote from my newly released May horoscope.

"By the third weekend, May 17-18, another shorter trip could be on your agenda, and if so, it looks like you will decide to go quite spontaneously. Jupiter will be beautifully angled to that full moon, so you should find your accommodations luxurious. This will be the time of the month of the full moon, and it will reach apex on Monday, May 19. You may want to take that day off too, and extend your weekend into three days - a good idea. Even if you go to a place nearby, your time away will prove to be very refreshing."

Susan Miller, you sneaky spy, how ever did you know that I would be frolicking off to an all-inclusive resort in Montego Bay from May 16-19 and I most certainly decided to take that Monday off?!?!?! GENIUS.

And now, presenting my Spring 2008 resort collection...

Napoli Magenta by Vix. I love Vix suits. Love them! They are the perfect combination of sporty and sexy. Love the color of the stripes..and the leather straps!!! Meow! Uhm..did I really just say that?

Savana by Vix. Break out your tribal side in this cute zebra print...and you can't tell, but there are little sequins all over the front...super cute!!!

I kind of couldn't get enough of the stripes this swim season. And I like the shape of this bandeau suit by Le Tartes. You can't tell but the fabric has a bit of metallic glitter to it, making it just sparkley enough to shimmer on the beach.

Moving forward, I pose the question: What is summer without some new gladiator sandals?!?! I picked up two cute ones by Sam Edelman that were super cute AND super affordable!

Gilda by Sam Edelman. Here we have the classic gladiator sandal...the higher ankle straps give it a fashionable edge over other sandals, and your feet feel super secure in the whale-rib-like design.

Ginger by Sam Edelman. I love how different these sandals look!! The pebbled texture and the blingy snake skin leather.

And the best part are these cute zippers in the back!!! This is casual luxury at its best!!!

PS: Someone needs to check out this Amazonia Brasil thing at South Street Sea Port with me sometime very, very soon.

Price: leather stripe suit $186, zebra suit $186, stripe bandeau $156, gilda sandal $85, ginger sandal $95

yes all im gonna say about your trip to jamaica is: bring me something...a souvenir. And, I want it to be the same thing I ask every time someone goes away...Make it a hot girl. For your sake, a hot mamasita that fits neatly into an large suit case, but not too large. Thanks.
