Sashimi Tacos. Began with these little crispy taco shells filled with tuna. OK, Digi, go ahead. Comment about that. But these mini delights were so cute and had a great texture!!
Fresh Fluke Sashimi with Dried Miso. I don't know how much you can rave about Japanese food...I don't care what all you sushi snobs say - after a while, good sushi is just good sushi. And that's all I can say about this dish.
Scallops on Yuzu Sauce and Lime Stone Lettuce. I love lettuce wraps because they make me forget about carbs for two seconds.
Halibut Cheeks with Wasabi Pepper Sauce. The cheeks were so yummy and picked up the flavors from the shitake mushrooms!
And for dessert, my friends, Fro Yo!!!! With blueberry coulis, fresh strawberries, and black sesame garapiƱados. I forget what "garapiƱados" was - but it involved black sesame, which is one of my favorite flavors in life.Nobu was nothing that I had never tasted before...and to be honest I don't really recall much about the food (and not even a week has passed). This might have been a different story if I had been eating and blogging in the restaurant at the same time...because I recall gushing about the food often and making lots of sound effects. Although maybe that's what your brain has to think to compensate for the fact that you are spending an obscene amount of money on each dish. But I think Nobu is a good place to have a safe, no-surprises meal that you know you will enjoy.
Price: tacos $6/each; fluke $18, scallops $17, halibut $18, froyo $11
